Central Park view balcony is an underrated gem

We booked 11342 specifically for the Central Park view and it did not disappoint. Waking up to actual greenery on a cruise ship is surreal. The trees are real, the lighting at night is beautiful, and you hear gentle acoustic music drifting up from the restaurants below. The trade-off is obvious: no ocean view. But honestly? After three ocean cruises the novelty of staring at water had worn off. This felt like staying in a boutique hotel that happened to be floating. Room was clean and modern, steward was attentive. The only downside is the occasional whiff of food from Giovanni's Table below around dinner service. Manageable.

Royal Caribbean · Harmony of the Seas · Deck 7, Cabin 7714

Central Park view balcony — different but special

Harmony has balconies that face inward to Central Park (the real garden on the ship) rather than the ocean. 7714 is one of these. It's a totally different experience — you get greenery, sounds of the park, ambient noise from the restaurant below (Chops and 150 Central Park). Privacy from the park is low — people walk below and look up sometimes, and you can see into other balconies across the way. But the atmosphere is genuinely charming, especially at night with the park lighting. Good trade for the ocean view? Depends on you. We loved the novelty. Second cruise we'd probably do ocean side.
